About the job:

You will oversee multiple development teams and team leads, guiding the full software development lifecycle and ensuring the successful delivery of our product roadmap. A key part of the role is providing hands-on architectural direction while driving the adoption of modern engineering practices as we continue a major transformation of our OCS platform into a scalable, cloud-native web application.

The Development Manager will play a central role in shaping how we design, build, secure, and deliver our software. You will work closely with Product, Support, and engineering leadership to improve processes, enhance team performance, and ensure our applications meet the needs of customers operating in demanding, safety-critical environments.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading multiple development teams and their team leads to deliver high-quality software aligned to the product roadmap.
  • Providing hands-on architectural guidance to ensure robust, scalable and secure design decisions for both cloud and on-premise deployments.
  • Driving the adoption of modern engineering practices, improving development processes, and championing continuous improvement across the teams.
  • Translating business and user requirements into clear technical specifications for implementation.
  • Establishing and maintaining coding standards, code review processes, and engineering quality gates.
  • Owning and enhancing CI/CD processes, collaborating with operations to ensure reliable deployments and a strong DevOps culture.
  • Embedding secure coding practices and overseeing the use of automated code scanning and quality tools.
  • Coordinating and prioritising development, maintenance, and support activities across teams.
  • Mentoring and coaching developers, fostering a high-performance engineering culture.
  • Leading technical recruitment and supporting the growth of the development organisation.
  • Acting as the focal point for communication between Product, Team Leads and Support to ensure alignment and smooth delivery.

We`d like you to have:

  •  Bachelor’s degree or MS in Software Development or equivalent.
  • Significant experience in software development and system architecture, including leadership of engineering teams.
  • Strong, recent hands-on development experience, C# and .NET experience is particularly beneficial.
  • Proven experience delivering enterprise-level applications across cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Experience with modern frontend and backend frameworks (e.g., Angular, .NET 8).
  • Understanding of agile development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment processes.
  • Awareness of secure development practices (e.g., OWASP) and experience with code quality tools.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with internal stakeholders.
  • The confidence and initiative to challenge existing practices and drive positive change.
  • A background in scaling teams or contributing to team growth.
