On May 17th, our colleagues across Norway proudly joined the national celebrations of Norway’s Constitution Day, or Syttende Mai, a day that continues to hold deep cultural and historical significance.
First marked in 1814, this day commemorates Norway’s declaration of independence from Denmark and the signing of its constitution.
As always, the celebrations were full of colour, tradition, and community spirit. Across the country, Norwegians gathered for parades, flag-raising ceremonies, and festive events. Traditional costumes known as “bunads” were worn with pride, each one representing different regions of Norway through distinctive patterns, embroidery, and colours.
