Section 1 Basic principles and risk evaluation
• Identify the stakeholders affected by ship fires and EMSA recommendations

Section 2 Guidance for ro-ro passenger ships
• Explain AFV considerations for ro-ro passenger ships
• Describe EV charging on board ro-ro passenger ships
• Explain ro-ro fire detection and identify AFV instability
• Explain basic first responses and actions for vehicle fires
Section 3 Additional handling considerations
• Describe crew activity during fire suppression
• Explain fire handling and post measures for different types of AFVs
• State the EMSA guidance provided for ro-ro cargo ships and vehicle carriers
• Explain how EV and hybrid vehicles should be stored
• Describe how low ground clearance can be a potential fire risk
Assessment
Three end of section assessments (one for each section) with a 70% pass mark and two attempts.
