This course meets the Cargo Handling and Stowage training requirements for an STCW endorsement as Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch on vessels of 500 or more gross tonnage (ITC), per STCW Table A-II/1. Students will complete the theoretical content and written examinations online and are approved to take the final written examination online through our Halo Exam Monitoring System.
Students are required to complete the practical assessments on board or on-site at Northeast Maritime Institute for successful completion of the online content.
We suggest taking Ship Construction and Basic Stability as a prerequisite to this course.
Note: A $50 exam fee has been included in the course price.
50 questions with a 70% pass mark.
The written exam(s) can be taken online through HALO° Exams, which you will be directed to at the end of your course.
Required equipment for the exam outside of any required materials identified in the course include a computer and web camera.
