• International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code and MARPOL Annex III
• The Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemicals (REACH) Regulation
• The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations
• European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR)
• International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code
• International Air transport Association (IATA), and
• Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations (CDG)

Once you have completed the course, you will be asked a series of questions to check your knowledge and understanding. These are based on the learning objectives for the course and have a pass mark of 70%.

• Outline the responsibility of the manufacturer regarding an SDS
• Explain when an SDS should be provided
• Explain the duty of shipowners and employers in relation to Safety Data Sheets
• Give an overview of the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS)
• Explain the REACH Regulation
• Give an overview of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations
• Outline the role of an SDS in a risk assessment
Section Two: Safety Data Sheet Information
• Recognise the layout of an SDS
• Give an overview of the identification information contained in an SDS
• Give an overview of the hazard identification information
• Give an overview of the composition and data information
• Give an overview of the first aid information
• Give an overview of the fire-fighting information
• Give an overview of the accidental release information
• Give an overview of the storage and handling of information
• Give an overview of the exposure control information
• Give an overview of the physical and chemical properties information
• Give an overview of the stability and reactivity information
• Give an overview of the toxicological information
• Give an overview of the environmental information
• Give an overview of the transport information
• Give an overview of the regulatory information
• Outline the supplementary information that may be present in an SDS
Assessment
End of course assessment with a 70% pass mark.
