Who is the course for?
This Mercury Awareness Training course is aimed at individuals who work in industries or work places where mercury may be present.
Is previous experience required?
You do not need prior knowledge or experience to complete this course and it is assumed that you are competent in your designated role.

By ensuring you are fully aware of the dangers of mercury, you can work with it safely and can help respond in the event of an emergency. This will help to reduce the number and impact of incidents at your work place.

• Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH)
• The Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA)
Is there an assessment?
Once you have completed the course, you will be asked a series of questions to check your knowledge and understanding. These are based on the learning objectives for the course and have a pass mark of 80%.
Learning Objectives
- Identify mercury, the forms that it can take and where it can be found
- Identify recommended mercury exposure limits
- Recognise the hazards associated with mercury
- Recognise the effects of mercury contamination
- Recognise the control measures that can be used to limit workplace exposure
Assessment
Once you have completed the course, you will be asked a series of questions to check your knowledge and understanding. These are based on the learning objectives for the course and have a pass mark of 80%.
