Who is the course for?
This Introduction to Separator Start Up & Shut Down Training course is aimed at individuals in the oil and gas industry who work with separators and require an overview of their control, start-up and shut-down systems.

It is assumed that you are competent in your designated role and understand the basic principles of separation and the operation of separators.

Separators are fitted with several control systems to ensure that they can be safely started, operated and shut down. This course will give you an overview of separator indication and control before outlining the activities involved in separator start up and shut down.
The knowledge gained in this course will help you to safely start up and shut down separators. It will also indicate the additional instrumentation that is commonly fitted to a separator.

By ensuring you are fully aware of the procedures for start-up and shut-down, you will be better able to work with separators. You will also be able to identify abnormal operating conditions using the identification systems fitted, which can help to prevent process disruptions and incidents.
