Once you have completed the course, you will be asked a series of questions to check your knowledge and understanding. These are based on the learning objectives for the course and have a pass mark of 70%.
Learning Objectives
• Identify the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) for working in the engine room
• Describe the emergency equipment present in the engine room
• Explain how to reduce the risk of fires
• Describe the isolation procedures for the engine room
• Describe how to prevent slips trips and falls
• Explain the safety precautions required when working around steam and hot surfaces
• Describe the safety precautions required when working with electricity
• Explain the safety precautions required when working in enclosed spaces
• Explain the safety requirements when working aloft in the engine room
