• Explain the importance of managing marine fuels
• Describe the different methods used to deliver fuel
• Recall the requirements of ISO 8217
• Explain the importance of ensuring fuels are compatible prior to mixing

• Describe the typical contaminants of marine fuel and the importance of sampling
• Describe examples of fraudulent fuel practices
• Describe how marine fuel is processed on board
• Identify when crew might be exposed to fuel vapours containing hydrogen sulphide
