Learning Objectives
• Identify lifting equipment commonly used in the Oil and Gas Industry
• Define what is meant by Safe Working Loads (SWLs) and colour coding
• Give examples of hazards that can be posed by lifting operations
• Describe the process for carrying out pre-use inspections on equipment to ensure safe lifting operations
• Identify the safety precautions that should be taken to mitigate any risk when using lifting equipment
