Mintra has continued its sponsorship of Aberdeen FC Women player Johan Fraser for a third season – while also supporting her study towards Chartered Accountant status.
Johan, group assistant accountant with Mintra, will once again have the company as her player sponsor as she and her teammates look to lift their third consecutive league title.
Aberdeen FC Women will play in SPWL1 after winning promotion last season and will kick off their campaign in September.
However, the forward has more talents than just football. Johan, who joined Mintra straight from university in 2019, is juggling work and training with attaining a CA qualification.
Despite being so busy, she jumped at the chance when Mintra senior managers asked her if she would like to add to her degree in international business management. Johan has one year remaining in her three-year course and has achieved excellent results in all exams so far.
She said: “I really enjoyed the finance element of my degree, so I was really pleased to get a finance role.
"I’d already been thinking about the ICAS qualification, so I was delighted when my managers asked if I would be interested in going for it.
“I knew that it would be a lot of work, but I also knew that I would be really well supported through the process by Mintra. My managers have all been through ICAS too and they’re always on hand with tips and advice on areas where I need to focus my study.
“All of the learning over the past year has been done online and in two or three-week blocks. I’ve been really impressed at how much support I’ve received from Mintra – I’m surrounded by helpful mentors who all make sure that I have enough study time regardless of how busy the department is.”
Chief finance officer Ian Mackie said Mintra was delighted to be able to support Johan on and off the field. He added: “Johan has a lot going on between work, studying and football, yet she excels at everything she puts her mind to.
“We are incredibly proud of all her achievements. Everyone at Mintra wishes Aberdeen FC Women the very best of luck for the year ahead – a year which should also see Johan become a CA.”
