Blending eLearning with cloud-based simulation courses bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application.
This dynamic combination enables organisations to prepare their workforce for real-world challenges with increased confidence. The eLearning can be completed anytime and anywhere, whether online or offline, and is accessible on PCs, laptops, tablets, or mobile devices. With no need to travel to a physical training center, you can complete the training at your own convenience, making it a highly accessible and efficient learning solution. The cloud-based simulator’s replicate a real simulator environment, providing an authentic and immersive experience where learners undertake exercises, culminating in a timed exam to assess their skills and knowledge. The simulator component requires internet connectivity and should be accessed on a laptop or a desktop, preferably with multiple screens. There is a maximum time limit for the simulator exercises, with a countdown running continuously from the start without any breaks.

Mintra’s Trainingportal system securely hosts over 2,600 courses for 2.8 million users. An App and online/offline functionality ensures that learning can continue on board, anytime and anywhere. Data is synchronised when internet is available.

Mintra’s cloud-based simulator courses cover critical areas of maritime operations across navigation, engineering and environmental.

Blending eLearning & simulation creates a seamless and complementary learning experience that harnesses the strengths of both approaches. A cutting-edge digital solution that enables you to deliver classroom-standard learning experiences remotely to a wider audience and without the logistical barriers and costs.

Learners can practice high-risk procedures without endangering equipment, vessels, or lives.

Real-life scenarios are recreated, engaging learners emotionally and cognitively, improving focus and learning outcomes.

Self-paced eLearning covers theoretical concepts before practical application in simulation — cementing understanding and improving long-term retention.

Ensures adherence to regulatory standards while tracking and certifying learners’ progress.

BOTH PRACTICAL AND THEORETICAL LEARNING HELPED ME TO UNDERSTAND AND PRACTICE THE ECDIS IN A VIRTUAL MANNER.
For Deck Officers, 19 courses and 332 hours of maritime navigation operations and equipment training, suitable for all ship types.
Deck Officers are required to use varying systems and equipment onboard including the ECDIS (Electronic Chart Display and Information System), which despite offering the same functionality, is operated differently, based on its manufacturer. In turn, this creates a challenge and a potential risk to safe navigation of the vessel, should the officer be unfamiliar with the exact equipment model on board. The Mintra courses cover 19 different ECDIS models from the most common equipment manufacturers.
Each ECDIS Type-Specific course is broken down into 10 core modules with a recommended completion time of 16 hours.

A suite of 19 courses and 53 hours of maritime engineering and environmental training for a range of ranks, disciplines and suitable for all ship types. 12 courses, indicated with *, include environmental awareness topics to support corporate sustainability goals.
