Mintra to present at Pareto Securities’ 28th Annual Energy Conference

09 / 09 / 2021

Mintra has been invited to share details of the innovative digital technologies it has developed to reshape the future of the maritime sector at the Pareto Securities’ 28th Annual Energy Conference next week.

CEO Kevin Short will address delegates attending the event’s Maritime Technology Session, held on September 15 and 16, to discuss the benefits of Mintra’s Trainingportal Offline platform.

Trainingportal Offline is a unique solution that addresses the challenges of delivering eLearning training to seafarers during periods of limited or no internet connectivity. Currently used by 38,500 seafarers worldwide, Trainingportal Offline is installed locally to allow eLearning to take place on board at any time.

Course completions and competency records are updated when internet connectivity on the ship is restored, allowing synching with the online version of Trainingportal used at the operator’s on shore base.

Mr Short said: “The solution allows seafarers to operate safely by accessing accredited training round the clock to ensure their compliance and competency. It gives operators the assurance that an appropriately trained crew is on board at all times, and of course it means seafarers do not have to give up valuable time on leave to carry out training on shore.

“With the growing emphasis on eLearning in a post-pandemic world, there is going to be increased demand for creative approaches such as Trainingportal Offline to ensure that training, compliance and competency is never compromised, even when internet connectivity is.

“Mintra is leading the digitalisation of the maritime sector, developing innovative solutions that help our clients prepare for and meet the challenges of the industry’s transformation.”

Over the years the Pareto Securities’ Annual Energy Conference has become an important event for public and private companies within the E&P, oil service and maritime sectors.

It will be the largest event of its kind in Europe with around 200 presenting companies and some 2,500 participating investors and industry professionals attending virtually and in-person in Oslo.
