Hand Safety (US) Training

• Give an overview of the dexterity of the human hand and identify ways that your hands can be injured

• Identify the main causes of hand related injuries

• Give examples of hand related injuries

• Identify the activities commonly associated with hand injuries and the precautions that can be taken to prevent injury

• Describe how to treat a hand injury

• Explain what is meant by the term Musculoskeletal Disorder

• Identify your responsibilities for the prevention of hand injury

• Identify key safety measures that should be taken before the start of every work task

• Identify the Hierarchy of Control and explain its importance in relation to preventing hand injuries

• Identify and explain the importance of wearing the correct safety gloves for a task

• Explain how to implement appropriate control measures to remove or reduce the potential risk of hand injuries

Once you have completed the course, you will be asked a series of questions to check your knowledge and understanding. These are based on the learning objectives for the course and have a pass mark of 80%.
