• Explain what is meant by the terms ‘sealed source’ and ‘unsealed source’
• Give examples of sealed sources in the workplace
• Identify the hazards associated with radiation
• Identify the PPE requirements for handling radioactive materials
• Give an overview of the exposure limits for handling radioactive materials
• Describe the correct method for performing personal monitoring
• Explain how the hazards associated with radioactive materials can be mitigated
• Identify control measures that should be taken to protect personnel from radiation exposure
• Explain the actions to take in the event of an emergency
